Every singer songwriter or musician has a seminal moment at some time in their lives when they hear or see something that makes them want to write, sing or pick up an instrument and play. For me it was hearing Marty Robbins sing his gun fighter ballads. At school most of the other kids were into 70's pop but as a child I only had ears for Marty Robbins. The next, almost simultaneous discoveries were The Elvis Sun sessions and the Clash, I found the same excitement in both even though they were generations apart. I've always loved the great balladeers but at the same time been attracted to the writing and sound of the more contemporary artistes and bands.

Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Burnett, Eric Bogle, The Sons of The Pioneers, The Shadows, Elvis Scotty & Bill, The Skids, The Clash, Christy Moore, Dean Martin, The Jam, The Smiths, Shane MacGowan, Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent, Tom Petty, Johnny Kid and the Pirates, Van Morrison, Bing Crosby, Jim Reeves, Robert Johnson, Joe Meek. They have all written, sung, produced or performed music that has inspired me in one way or another but where that leaves me as an artist I don't know.

Add to that a love of theme writers such as John Barry and great English composers like Vaughn Williams and you start to get an idea of how difficult it is for me to describe what it is I do. All I can say is what comes out is how I'm feeling at the time.

Between 1996/97, with the help of a group of truly fantastic players, I recorded an album of my songs titled This Hour. Soon after completion the label I recorded it for ceased to exist. However a number of sample copies were sent to radio stations and music magazines around Europe. As a result of the few that found their way into receptive hands, airplay and interest in This Hour has continued to grow.

Over the last few years I have received countless requests for information and how to purchase This Hour and other tracks I have written and recorded since. It is in response to these requests, and as a vehicle to make my music accessible to all those who want to hear it, that this web site has been set up.
